The Arena Test · For parents and guardians

A note for parents

Your athlete's coach has invited the team to take the Arena Test. It's a free, 25-question questionnaire from my book Step Into the Arena about how people respond to pressure: whether their focus scatters or tightens, where their effort fades, and whether they need to fire up or calm down before they compete.

It takes about six minutes. There are no right answers, and nothing on it is a diagnosis. The point is to give your athlete, and their coach, a few tools that fit how they actually respond to pressure.

What we collect

What we don't collect

Who sees what

WhoWhat they see
Your athleteTheir own profile and a playbook of tools for it, on screen right after they finish.
The coachPercentages for the whole team. Nothing shows until at least three athletes have finished, so no one can be picked out. The coach sees an individual profile only if your athlete ticks the box to share it.
Other athletesNothing.
Me (Steve Magness)Anonymous totals across everyone who has taken it, which I use to study how people handle pressure. I never publish anyone's individual answers.

A retest at week six

Some coaches run the test again after six weeks to see what changed. It works the same way, with the same privacy rules.

Questions, or want it deleted?

If your athlete shared their initials with the coach, I can find and delete their entry. If they didn't, their answers aren't linked to them in any way, so there's nothing that points back to them.

Email me with the team code and the initials they used, and I'll delete it.
